Our doctors who perform DOT physical examinations are familiar with the guidelines of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) pertaining to examinations and medical examiners issuing medical certificates to commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers.

The Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) has required the FMCSA to establish a national registry of medical examinaers qualified to perform DOT physical exams and issue certificates. The FMCSA has developed a standardized training program that will be released soon that once the medical examiners successfully completes, the doctor will become listed in the FMCSA's National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME). Our doctors will comply with the requirement and complete the program once it is released. Our doctors will be listed in the NRCME. In the meantime, you may count on WorkRite Safety for performing DOT physical examinations for your employees or company.

Dr. David Thorpe, Founder and President of WorkRite Safety has been working with the FMCSA in the development of the standardized training component in the past two years. He has lectured and provided similar training to doctors across the nation on the subject.
